Lee Highway Drive-In Theatre

The Lee Highway Drive-In Theater was a drive-in movie theater in Merrifield.

The theater opened on August 26, 1954 and had a 50 by 120 foot CinemaScope screen and space for 1350 cars.[1][2]

On October 9, 1955, a little over a year after the theater was opened, it was robbed of $1100 by a gunman who, taking advantage of the nature of the establishment, never left his car during the robbery.[3]

The theater was demolished in 1984 and the Lee Highway Multiplex Cinemas built on the site.[2]
