Kirkwood Presbyterian Church

Kirkwood Presbyterian Church is in Springfield.

The current pastor of the church is the Reverend Larry C. Lees, who became the pastor in January 2002.

On November 24, 1968, the Reverend G. Carswell Hughs became pastor of the church, preaching his first sermon on January 12, 1969.[1]

Following Hughs' resignation to move to the first Presbyterian Church of Charlotte, North Carolina, the congregation elected Tom A. Davidson pastor on May 13, 1973.[2]

Some time between the late evening of November 10 and the early morning of November 11, 1994, the church was one of four broken into, but nothing appeared to be stolen and the church was not vandalized.[3]
