Gwen Ames

Gwen Ann Ames (December 16, 1954 – June 4, 1972) was a 17-year-old Reston teenager and former narcotics enthusiast who was strangled to death on as she walked along a path from the Lake Anne Center to her home on June 4, 1972.[1][2]

Her body was found in the flowerbed of Ben Muse just off the path she had been walking, fully clothed.[1]

The Ames family was one of the first 100 families of Reston. Gwen was the first murder victim in Reston since its creation 7 years prior.
