Fairfax High School is a public high school in the City of Fairfax.

While the school is owned by the City of Fairfax, it is operated as part of the agreement with the Fairfax County Public Schools system to administer the city's schools.

History

The first Fairfax High School opened for classes on February 25, 1935 with Merlin H. Nipe as principal and 250 students who had up until that time been attending Oakton High School.[1]

The current school was built in 1972 and renovated in 2007.
