Booz Allen Hamilton

Booz Allen Hamilton, usually shortened to Booz Allen, is a management consulting firm and government services company headquartered in McLean.

Booz Allen moved its corporate headquarters to McLean in 1992.

In May 2008, the Washington, D. C.-based Carlyle Group bought Booz Allen's government services business for $2.54 billion.[1] The non-governmental portion of the company continued under the name Booz & Company.

Booz Allen went public in a November 2010 IPO of 14 million shares, raising $238 million.[2] From 2014 to 2016, Carlyle Group gradually reduced their ownership of Booz Allen, selling 7.35 million shares in February 2014, 11 million shares in November 2014, 13 million in May 2016, and culminating in a final sale of 16.7 million shares in December 2016.[3][4]
