Ashton King

Ashton King was a 33-year-old section man on the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad who was mortally injured on July 8, 1902, when he was run over by an engine at Accotink, Virginia.[1]

One of his legs was severed below the knee and the other nearly so at the hip, and the rescuers had to partially dismantle the engine to extricate him. He died about 40 minutes later.[1]
