Nancy F. Sprague Technology Center

The Nancy F. Sprague Technology Center is housed in former a public elementary school in Annandale.

Constructed in 1965, it was originally known as the Chapel Square Elementary School.

Faced with declining enrollment, the Fairfax County School Board voted on November 23, 1982 to close the school.

The school closed in 1984, and its students began attending Wakefield Forest Elementary School.[1] After its closing, it was alternatively known as the Chapel Square Media Center or simply the Chapel Square Center.

On February 26, 2004, the school board renamed the facility to honor Dr. Nancy F. Sprague, the former Chief Academic Officer for FCPS, who had died in November of the previous year.
